How To Give Your Photographer A Virtual Hug
Before I stepped behind a camera, I, like you, hired photographers to take my family photos. I often wondered: How do I, show the gratitude, I have for these moments? How can I show my photographer that, I’m still happy with these photos eight years later?
After starting my photography business, I’ve learned a few simple steps that really mean the WORLD!
1. Reply to the email.
After your session, the time spent making sure your moments are perfect, can either make or break our relationship. Many hours are spent in front of the computer, sometimes late at night when all the kids are in bed. When I finally feel confident enough to hit the ‘send gallery to client’ button, the waiting game comes. Replying to the email ensures that #1 – you got the email and, #2 – you were able to get access to all your photos.
2. Thank you! vs Thanks.
Thanking someone virtually can be difficult but, exclamation points (!) go A LONG way!! They add emotion, excitement, and happiness. But don’t stop there… take time to share your honest feedback: likes dislikes, wishes, hopes, and dreams.
3. Comment, Share and Liking.
Nothing feels more like a hug when you comment & like my posts. Sharing the reel, story, or post(s) to your timeline feels like a hug you give someone you haven’t seen in a long time. Interacting on my socials helps me grow and, can help boost my business with algorithms.
I run 100% from referrals! The words you type, and the share button you push with your thumb, have weight and when used for good, it empowers me to keep doing what I’m passionate about.
4. Say Hi in public (or virtually).
It’s that simple. When you see me in Target, church, getting coffee, in my driveway, or even on your screen, please say hi! I’m not afraid of a hug, but a fist-bump or high-five feels the same. I love what I do because my passion introduces me to some pretty amazing people and I’ve made some everlasting friendships.
As a photographer, my job is never complete. Your photos live physically on a drive for years to come, and I’ll carry our conversations, the smiles, laughter, and the little moments with your loved ones with me forever.
